Official welcome to Elena Arzak

Coincidiendo con el 125 aniversario de nuestra Sociedad, el pasado día 21 de mayo celebramos un emotivo y significativo acto de bienvenida a Elena Arzak, hija de nuestro querido socio Juan Mari Arzak, tras haberse formalizado recientemente la entrega de la llave en el proceso sucesorio.
Elena was accompanied by her husband, Manu, and was welcomed by several representatives of the Board of Directors, including President Koldo Arnaiz and former President Fernando Blanco, commissioner for the anniversary events. At the meeting, she was formally presented with an apron and given a detailed explanation of how the Society operates: from the use of the kitchen to internal organization, the grading system, and other key aspects of corporate life.
During the ceremony, a few words of welcome were given in which Juan Mari was fondly remembered, along with his deep appreciation for this Society. We express our hope that Elena and her family will find in it the same spirit of camaraderie, good food, and enjoyment that her father so valued.
Next, a meal was held in his honor. The appetizer consisted of oysters and foie gras, followed by a cream and hake with clams prepared by the renowned chef and partner Ramón Roteta. Finally, a special dessert was served courtesy of Pastelería Otaegi, courtesy of our partner and director Iñigo Otaegi.
During the day, various photographs were taken that will remain as a memento of this special moment.
With this welcome, we celebrate not only the incorporation of a new generation into our Society, but also the value of continuity and commitment to the principles that unite us: friendship, tradition, and a passion for gastronomy.
